Floresta Tanzania is delighted to be recognized by the Siha District Council for its contribution to the government-led tree planting initiative in Siha District, commemorating the National Tree Planting Day.
The recognition reflects the collective efforts made in collaboration with community groups supported and managed by Floresta Tanzania. Through this partnership, a total of 7,600 trees were successfully planted across various locations in the district between March 21 and March 31, 2026.
The tree planting activities took place in Loti (Lowland area), Kihaka Water fall, Kyengia Primary School, and the villages of Kyengia, Koboko and Nrao Sangara. The planted trees included a mix of fruit trees, indigenous species and timber varieties selected to suit the local environment and community needs.
This recognition highlights the importance of collaboration between government institutions, development organizations and local communities in advancing environmental conservation. It also reflects the commitment of community groups managed by Floresta in Siha District who continue to take an active role in restoration efforts.
Floresta Tanzania values this partnership and remains committed to supporting sustainable land restoration through community driven approaches that contribute to improved livelihoods and long-term environmental sustainability.
Hongereni sana Shirika la FLORESTA Tanzania kwa kazi nzuri na ya mfano mliyofanya kwa ushirikiano na Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Siha katika upandaji wa miti hii 7,600. Hakika jitihada hizi ni mkombozi mkubwa katika utunzaji wa mazingira yetu na kukabili mabadiliko ya tabianchi.
Mimi ni mwanafunzi wa chuo kikuu mzumbe mwaka wa kwanza ninasoma fani ya Usimamizi wa Mazingira (Environmental Management), na ni mkazi wa Rombo -kilimanjaro nimevutiwa sana na miradi yenu. Ningependa kuuliza kama shirika lenu huwa linatoa nafasi za kujitolea (volunteering),au kushiriki katika shughuli na matukio (events) mbalimbali mnazozifanya huku mbeleni ili tuweze kuchangia nguvu kazi na kujifunza kwa vitendo.
